How it works
Check a duty in three steps
-
01
Describe the duty
Enter the report time, the number of sectors and the crew member's state of acclimatisation.
-
02
Add the context
Tick the extension if it is planned, then enter the preceding duty for the rest, and the hours already logged for the cumulative limits.
-
03
Read the limits
Maximum FDP, latest end of FDP, minimum rest and earliest next report update as you type. Each cumulative limit turns green, orange or red.

FAQ
Your Questions Answered
-
What is the maximum FDP under EASA FTL?
For acclimatised crew members, 13 hours for a duty starting between 06:00 and 13:29 with 1 or 2 sectors. It decreases by 30 minutes per sector from the third one, down to 9 hours, and is shorter for afternoon, evening and early-morning starts: 11 hours for a duty starting between 17:00 and 04:59.
-
When can the FDP be extended by one hour?
When the extension is planned in advance, for acclimatised crew members only, at most twice in any 7 consecutive days and within the CS FTL.1.205 table, which allows up to 5 sectors and no extension for duties starting between 19:00 and 06:14. The rest before and after the duty each increase by 2 hours, or the rest after it by 4 hours.
-
How is the minimum rest calculated?
The rest before a flight duty period is at least as long as the preceding duty, with a minimum of 12 hours at home base and 10 hours away from base. Away from base, it must include an 8-hour sleep opportunity.
-
What are the cumulative duty and flight time limits?
Duty time is capped at 60 hours in any 7 consecutive days, 110 hours in 14 days and 190 hours in 28 days. Flight time is capped at 100 hours in any 28 consecutive days, 900 hours per calendar year and 1,000 hours in any 12 consecutive months.

Does this calculator replace my operator's FTL scheme?
No. It applies the basic EASA ORO.FTL values. Your operator's approved scheme, collective agreements and specific cases such as split duty, augmented crew, reduced rest or commander's discretion can change the result.
